How to achieve a balanced life?
--
Achieving balance in life is an endless struggle, and even harder to maintain.
How do you balance your needs and your household?
How do you balance your needs, household, and work?
How about your needs, household, work, and your partner?
How about your needs, household, work, your partner, and children?
Let us add animals and hobbies to the list as well.
How do you balance all this and not forget, about yourself and most importantly your health?
That is a good question, that many of us don’t have an answer to. Maybe they don’t even notice that it is an issue. That everything is perfect.
Until it is not.
I have seen many around me, moving through life in a hurry. There have been times when I felt a sting of jealousy, because of the adventures they have hurried into. Wishing I would dare to do those things.
It has worked for them, for a while. Until one day when they hit the wall and life as they know, has changed over a night.
In most cases have I seen their mental health taking a turn as well. And for some can it take years to restore.
Balancing everything in your life is not possible.
You have to learn to prioritize.
You have to learn to delegate.
You have to learn to see beyond today.
But most importantly, You have to understand that you only have one body. So take care of it.
There are many ways in today’s society, to stress yourself. But there are many ways to find peace as well.
You just have to find something that fits you and your lifestyle.
One of the most common actions seems to be: Get a hobby!
Doing something that you truly love. Something that positively engages you, is good on many levels. Mentally, Physically and spiritually.
Hobbies like:
Reading
Playing an instrument
Yoga/meditation
Walks
Just to mention a few. Are great ways to relax your body and mind, and can reduce anxiety.
Do not forget what I mentioned earlier:
Prioritize: You need to learn what to prioritize in your life. Ask yourself: What matters most to me?
Make a list and focus on that list. It does not mean that you remove certain things from your life. It means that you put less time on the less important things.
Delegate: If you have a partner or friends and family members who can help you, to ease your burden, or help you out in other ways: Let them.
Look beyond today: There are things you will not be able to accomplish today. Do not feel guilty about it. There is tomorrow.
Do not stress about something that can be postponed, to another day.
Stand open for a positive change in your life. Your heart, body, and mind will thank you for it in the long run.
Good luck!
Greetings Serena
