My thoughts of Vamps, by Nicole Arend.

Title: Vamps
Author: Nicole Arend
Genre: Fantasy
Young/Adult
Pages: 449
Stars: 4/5

Keywords: sex, young hot vampires, coffins, blood, finding yourself.

Some books take ages to read, and some you finish a lot faster.

This book belongs to the latter group. When I got it in my mail and started to read it, I finished it within 48 hours. It has been a while since I read a book that I just couldn’t stop reading like that.

Vamps is an adult version of Harry Potter but with vampires, since the two have some similarities.

For instance, they are:
1: Written in easy-read language.
2: For the most part, takes place in a school.
3: The main character is more special than the rest.

Dillon has lived with his father his whole life and has no memories of his mother when he learns he is a dhampir (half-human and half-vampire). His father wants to honor Dillon’s mother by following her request to send him to Vamps Academy.

Not knowing what a dhampir is, how to fly, drink blood, or sleep in a coffin. Dillon enters the high-standard vampire academy and ought to learn how to survive.

As time passes, Dillon’s inner vampire awakens, but so does the target on his back.

Who is his ally, and who isn’t? And more importantly: who is his mother?
