My thoughts of The City we became by N.K. Jemisin

I had heard the name of this book more often than I would like. But no review could give me the information I wanted.

Something I can understand, now that I have read the book. Because it is one of those books that is difficult to describe.

Short about the book:
This is the first part of a duet.

It is a well-written, fiction book, taking place in New York City.

Six people, from different places, end up in New York, for different reasons.

These strangers have to learn to trust each other, because only together they can beat the threat that has come to take over New York, and then move on to the rest of the country.

Only a couple of obstacles stand in the way. The first one being: they have to find each other before the enemy does.

What I liked about the book:
*Short chapters.
*Well written.

What I didn’t like:
*The sexual parts. I found them irrelevant to the story.
*The jumping between the characters, could have been smoother.

Will I read it again: No. It’s not a book I would read again.

Greetings Serena
