Superstitions
Some of these superstitions have become so naturally involved in our lives that they are no longer seen as superstitions, yet they still have a history as such. Many people follow them without even realizing their origins.
I could barely walk when I came in touch with my first superstition: Do not walk under the ladder.
I recall someone grabbing my waist and pulling me to the side while scolding me for something I didn’t understand: Superstitions.
I had forgotten about it until recently.
One day, when EK was busy, my man came to me and passive-aggressively told me to get his t-shirt washed before the next game.
The day after, he acted up again. Eventually, I washed it, but he had to explain himself beforehand.
The times his team played well were when he wore that specific T-shirt, and he was so stressed about it.
I’m not used to seeing him like this, but it made me think about all the superstitions I grew up with.
I did some research online and found a list of superstitions.
You can find the complete list here.
I’ve picked out some of them:
1: Knock on wood.
This must be one of the superstitions that I am most used to hearing. And to be fair: I do use it at times…
