The Evolution of a Writer’s Voice
A writer’s journey, starting with a Dairy.
As a young girl, I once received a Diary from a neighbour. The young man had spent months abroad, but my parents knew him and his parents well, so he wasn’t a stranger in our home.
When I received the black book with some large berries on the cover and plenty of white pages, I was filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation. Little did I know, this would be the beginning of my writing journey.
In the beginning, there were more drawings than words, but eventually, the words took over, and the drawings disappeared. The photos arrived, and glitter, and… well, I was very creative for a while. But hey, that’s how things go when you’re a kid and have some empty pages to fill.
As I got older, so did my writing. I used more words and longer sentences, and I believe that my writing evolution will continue as long as I live.
