To do list

I should do some writing today, but for some reason: I am doing everything but writing.

As for most women I know, there is always something to do. All I have to do is to step inside my home and my to-do list begins in the hallway (actually it begins outside the house, someone should remove all the weeds out there).

So with hesitation, I open up my phone and wait for the words to appear on the screen.

Sometimes I am aware of the words, the sentences, the subject… And other times when I read it through after I am done, I wonder: where did all of that come from?

This mostly happens when I write about something that I feel deeply about.

To write is an amazing way of exploring life, the world, other planets, places, people, and so on. But the very best part is that it is one way to explore and learn more about yourself.

Daily I check in on google news and here and there I stumble upon articles where the art of writing, is pointed out to be beneficial for mental health.

I get that.

I do not think that you have to be an expert on the subject, to understand the benefits of writing.

Our minds are filled with thoughts, that need to come out.
The problem is to put actual words on them. It is not always easy to find the right way to describe something that is going on in your mind, to someone else.

So if you can not find any other way to release those nagging thoughts: pick up a pen and paper, or any other tool, and start writing.

Greetings
Serena
