You should break up with him!
Running Away Isn’t always the Answer in Relationships.
Once after my boyfriend and I had one or two bad days, I had to empty my emotional bucket: You know, that feeling when you’ve been holding in your emotions and frustrations, and they start to overflow?
So I turned to my best friend. She’s the person I usually confide in when things get tough. I thought she would offer the usual supportive words or just listen as I vent my frustrations.
However, her response shocked me. It felt like a harsh slap in the face when she said, without hesitation:
You should break up with him.
I was stunned. For a moment, I didn’t know how to respond. My mind raced as I tried to process her words. Eventually, I managed to say:
“No! I shouldn’t, not because we had a couple of bad days.”
“But you’re not happy with him.”
Her words hung in the air, heavy and full of meaning. I paused, gathering my thoughts before replying. “But I love him, and it’s not up to him to make me happy. That’s my job!”
